By the end of this guide, you’ll have your first charger online on the Spirii platform and ready to charge. You’ll set up the customer, location, and charge box end to end.

Before you start

This guide is for operators with charging hardware ready to install, or migrating from another platform. You’ll need operator access in Connect, and your installer should know how to point the charger’s connection to Spirii.

Steps

Create the customer

The customer is the organisation that owns the location: your own organisation, or one of your clients.See Customer management for the customer hierarchy and what ownership decides.

Create the location

Set up the site where the charger will be installed: its name, address, and accessibility settings. Keep the location private for now, so drivers can’t reach it before it’s ready. You’ll publish it once the charger is online.Location configuration goes through the site’s details, publishing settings, and opening hours.

Add the charge box

On the location, open the Charge boxes tab and add a charge box. Set the connection method (typically OCPP) and the charge box ID (CBID), the charger’s unique identifier.This creates a placeholder on the location, pending the charger’s first connection. The charge box shows as pending.The API route to this step, and the settings a charge box carries, are in Charger activation.

Connect the charger

Once the charger is installed, point its connection URL to Spirii. On the first BootNotification the charger sends (its initial OCPP handshake), the platform automatically unpacks and populates the charger’s settings, model information, EVSEs, and connectors.The charge box now comes online.Charger activation also describes what the platform reads back here, and how to import a configuration from an identical unit.

Test it

Because the location is still private, create a voucher code to grant yourself access, then start a charge to confirm everything works.Beyond testing, Voucher access explains how voucher groups open selected locations to a chosen group of drivers at a price you set.

Verify

While charging, the session appears in the Ongoing sessions tab on the location. When it ends, a charge detail record (CDR) is generated for the session.

Troubleshooting

  • The charger won’t come online. No BootNotification is reaching the platform: confirm the connection URL points to Spirii and that the installer configured the charger correctly.
  • The charger connects but the charge box stays pending. Check that the CBID you entered matches the charger’s actual identifier; a mismatch leaves the placeholder unlinked.

Add a tariff (and an optional roaming tariff), then set the location to public and enable roaming to let external drivers charge.
