This guide takes a fleet from nothing to charging in two parts. First you set up a depot your drivers charge at; then you put those drivers on the road, charging across other networks with the same tokens. Each step keeps to the shortest path and links to the capability that covers it in depth.

Before you start

You’ll need:
  • A Spirii Connect account with CPO access.
  • A charger installed on site and ready to connect.
  • Your fleet’s RFID keys, or the VIN or MAC address of each vehicle for Autocharge.
Throughout, the examples use a fleet — Acme Inc. — running a depot at Munich DC Hub.

Part 1 — Set up your depot

The goal: a private depot where your fleet charges for free, closed to everyone else.

Create a 0 EUR tariff

Every location bills against a tariff, so create one first. For charging your own fleet, make it 0 EUR. Paid pricing can come later if you open the site to others. See Pricing options and logic for how tariffs are built.

Create the depot location

Create Munich DC Hub under your Acme Inc. customer account, enter its address, and link the 0 EUR tariff. Leave it unpublished — a private depot isn’t listed in any app. Location configuration covers the full set of options.

Activate your charger

Add your charger to the location and bring it online. You’ll see it move from Pending to Online once it connects. Charger activation walks the connection, and the Quick start for CPOs has the detailed first-charger flow if you want it.

Issue tokens and lock the depot to your fleet

Create your drivers’ tokens — billed to Acme Inc. — then put them in a token group and bind that group to Munich DC Hub. Because the site is private, only tokens in the group can charge there, which makes the depot exclusively your fleet’s. Token authentication covers issuing tokens and bulk-loading a whole fleet at once.
You’ll know Part 1 worked when a driver taps their key at the depot and charging starts — and the session appears in Connect, billed to Acme Inc. at 0 EUR.

Part 2 — Put your drivers on the road

The goal: the same drivers charging away from the depot, on other operators’ networks.

Enable roaming on your fleet's tokens

Turn on roaming for the tokens you issued, and check each is active and labelled in the DK.SPI.{customerPrefix} format. A correctly labelled, roaming-enabled token is what lets a driver charge outside your own network.

Get the app into your drivers' hands

Your drivers charge on other networks through your branded app or Spirii Go. Each driver installs the app, adds their key, and sets up payment — or relies on the Acme Inc. billing you’ve set up. See Roaming connection for how roaming access works.

Find charging along a route

Use the Charge Map in Connect to see every charger your drivers can reach — your own, public, and roaming — and filter a route for the right connector and vehicle type. See Network coverage.
You’ll know Part 2 worked when a driver charges at another operator’s charger and the session lands back in Connect as a roaming session, billed to Acme Inc.
