A handful of concepts show up everywhere in Spirii — in the Hub, in the API, and in OCPI exchanges with partners. Knowing them up front makes everything easier.

Physical world

ConceptWhat it is
LocationA physical site that hosts one or more charge points. Can be public, semi-public, or private.
Charge pointA physical charger at a location. Reports to Spirii over OCPP.
EVSEThe “socket” — one outlet on a charge point. A dual-connector charger has two EVSEs.
ConnectorThe plug type on an EVSE: CCS, CHAdeMO, Type 2, etc.

Activity

ConceptWhat it is
TokenThe identifier that authorizes a session — an RFID card, an app token, or a roaming token.
Session / TransactionAn ongoing or completed charging event.
CDRA Charge Detail Record — the billable artifact produced when a session ends.
TariffThe pricing applied to a session, in OCPI format.

Commercial

ConceptWhat it is
CustomerA billable party — a person or company.
eMSPAn E-Mobility Service Provider — the entity that bills the driver.
CPOA Charge Point Operator — the entity that operates the charger. Often the same company as the eMSP.
Roaming partnerAnother CPO or eMSP you’ve connected to via OCPI.
