Each month, Spirii issues a self-billing invoice covering the charging revenue it collected on your behalf during the billing period. Alongside it, you receive a specification file listing every CDR — both included and excluded — so you can verify the payout in full.

What a self-billing invoice is

A self-billing invoice is created by Spirii on your behalf. Rather than you manually invoicing Spirii for sessions collected, Spirii automatically tracks consumption, calculates revenue, generates the invoice, and processes the payout based on validated data. The invoice is legally equivalent to an invoice you would send yourself. You do not need to issue a separate invoice to Spirii. Each supplier receives one document per country and currency. The invoice contains a single consolidated line representing total consumption for that period and currency — a deliberate simplification to keep the invoice clean and auditable.

What the payout covers

Your payout covers revenue Spirii collected for sessions on your chargers during the billing period. Self-billing is based on when charging sessions end, not when they start. Sessions that complete late in a period — or that arrive late because a charger was offline — are included in the earliest available open billing period.

The specification file

Alongside the invoice PDF, you receive a specification file containing all CDRs for the billing period. It covers both included and excluded sessions, so you have a complete picture of what was counted and what was not. Key columns: You can use the specification file to generate revenue reports by location, country, city, or customer by filtering on isIncluded = true.

Reconciling the invoice

To verify that the self-billing invoice amount matches the specification file:
  1. Open the specification file
  2. Filter rows where isIncluded = true
  3. Sum the priceExVat column for those rows
  4. The total should match the invoice amount (reverse charge VAT billing — VAT is not included in the line total)
For a cross-check against Connect data: export CDRs from Spirii Connect for the same billing period and compare session counts and total kWh. Minor differences can arise if sessions ended just after the period closed and were held for the next cycle. For questions about specific entries in the specification file, contact finance@spirii.com.

Exclusion reasons

The excludedReason column explains why a CDR was not included in the payout. The possible values are:

Fees

The payout is net of Spirii’s platform and payment fees. Fees are not deducted line by line on the self-billing invoice — they appear on a separate platform invoice Spirii sends to you. The self-billing invoice and the platform invoice together reflect the full financial picture for the period.

Revenue sharing

How payouts are distributed when site owners or subsidiaries are involved.

Billing automation

How CDRs are processed into invoices and payouts.
